IN OUR CONTEMPORARY PERFORMANCE-ORIENTED SOCIETY, THE OBSESSION WITH PERFECTION DOMINATES EVERY ASPECT OF LIFE, MAKING MISTAKES BEING SYNONYMOUS WITH WEAKNESS AND PERSONAL FAILURE. IMPERFECTION IS NOT TOLERATED: EVERY MOMENT MUST BE USEFUL, PRODUCTIVE, AND FUNCTIONAL.
”Making mistakes” is the theme of the new Posterheroes 2024 competition that asks the international creative community to express their vision on the theme of mistakes through a 70×100 cm poster.
FAVINI, the PLUG association and ITCLIO are partners for the design and organisation of the celebrated Posterheroes competition, which launches its 13th edition this year.
Read below to discover the brief for the 2024 edition and how graphic designers, creatives and designers can enter the competition.
THE THIRTEENTH EDITION BRIEF
Mistakes are one of the pillars upon which the human learning process is founded. They enable us to experiment, to explore different paths and identify the most suitable ones. Failure serves as a bridge to innovation and progress, a catalyst for change, an opening to new ideas and perspectives.
What appears as failure from a normative perspective, perhaps is simply a different way to do things. “Failure” is what characterises us as human beings, with just as many ways to live as there are of us.
LET US LEARN TO ACCEPT MISTAKES AS A HUMAN CHARACTERISTIC AND LET OURSELVES BE CAPTIVATED BY THE CHARM OF IMPERFECTIONS. THE GLITCH, THE OFF-KEY NOTE, THE PRINTING DEFECT, THE STAIN ON THE CANVAS — ERRORS ADD NUANCES AND DEPTH TO OUR EXPERIENCE, MAKING REALITY UNIQUE.
Let us challenge the collective aversion for mistakes and promote a more human and authentic vision of existence, one that embraces and celebrates imperfections as an essential aspect of our shared humanity. Let us celebrate our ability to turn failures into opportunities, revealing the resilience and creativity that characterises human spirit.
