Product and process certifications compliant with international standards and guidelines such as EMAS, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 45001 - FSC ™ and EKOenergia.
By adhering to these certifications, Favini demonstrates its concrete commitment to guaranteeing elevated quality to its operations and products as well as safety and environmental standards.

SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

In the 2024, Favini publishes its second Sustainability Report, combining information on the Group’s environmental, social and economic performance in one single document. Subsequent Group Sustainability Reports will be published annually.

This Report has been prepared voluntarily, adopting the GRI Standards as updated in 2021 as a reference.

The Report covers the entire Favini Group, including its subsidiaries listed in the Consolidated Financial Statements.

EMAS AND ISO 14001

Both of plants of Favini are ISO 14001 certified. This voluntary standard developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) guarantees that operations are geared toward keeping environmental impacts under control and constantly aiming for improvements through the pursuit of goals such as the implementation of increasingly advanced technological systems.

The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is another voluntary environmental certification for European companies committed to evaluating and improving the environmental performance of their production processes and communicating them to their stakeholders.

ISO 14001

The ISO 14001 certificate confirms compliance with the requirements for the implementation of a environmental management standard.


The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) aims to continuosly improve of environmental performance and to publish a declaration icluding Favini’s Integrated Management System (IMS) Policy.

Favini’s Rossano Veneto and Crusinallo plants both comply with EMAS and ISO 14001 standards, through which the company is committed to periodically establishing new environmental impact goals integrated with other safety and quality standards.

ISO 9001

The ISO 9001 certification is also a voluntary standard whose goal is to support improvements in the quality of production as well efficiency in manufacturing final products, therefore attaining and improving customer satisfaction.

Favini’s ISO 9001 certifications show a commitment to constantly improving the quality of its production processes and assuring its stakeholders that the quality of its products as well as the added value embodied in them are always high.

ISO 9001

The ISO 9001 certificate confirms compliance with the requirements for the implementation of a corporate quality management standard.

ISO 45001

Compliance with ISO 45001 standards, are an evolution of the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 standard and guarantees occupational health and safety at both paper mills. The new standard aims to define ways of developing an effective and efficient management system for workplace health and safety.

The tool is designed for integration with the ISO 14001 environmental standard and ISO 9001 quality standard. Workers’ safety, respect for the environment, and the quality of products and processes are aspects that Favini pursues according to the same logic, setting targets that are shared and embraced throughout the company.

ISO 45001

The ISO 45001 certificate confirms compliance with the requirements for the implementation of a occupational health and safety management standard.

In an Integrated System, workers’ health and safety are aligned with production and environmental performance goals.

FSC™

The acronym stands for Forest Stewardship Council, an NGO that has developed an internationally recognised certification in the forestry sector. Compliance with FSC™ standards ensures that raw materials, such as cellulose in the case of paper production, originate from responsibly managed forests.

Products manufactured at both the Crusinallo and Rossano Veneto plants, as well as Cartotecnica Favini products (certification number FSC-C001810 and FSC-C016724), are FSC™ certified. The Shiro Echo product line, for example, is entirely 100% FSC™ Recycled.

FSC™

The FSC™ trademark guarantees that the entire supply chain comes from an environmentally, socially and economically responsible management of the world’s forests.

The cellulose used in Favini products originates entirely from responsibly managed forests.

EKOenergy

This certification promoted by an international network of environmental NGOs guarantees the quality of Favini’s renewable hydroelectric energy production as well as its use in the manufacturing of certain product lines, like Tree Free and Alga Carta, in addition Crush, Remake and Refit.

The EKOenergy label originates from an international consultation process aimed not only at promoting sustainable energy production but also financing renewable energy projects around the world.

By using 100% renewable energy produced in-house, Favini manufactures its Crush, Remake and Refit, Tree Free, Alga Carta and Shiro Echo lines in a ecologically responsible way.

EKOenergy

EKOenergy is an eco-label assurring that the electricity used for specifically nominated products (Crush, Remake, Refit, Tree Free and Alga Carta) comes from renewable sources.

100% ENEL Energia

Shiro Echo, the eco paper containing 100% recycled fibers, is manufactured with 100% renewable energy produced using alternative energy sources such as hydropower, solar power, wind power and geothermal energy and certified 100% Enel Energia by a system of “Guarantees of Origin” managed by the power service provider, pursuant to EU Directive 2009/28/CE.

100% ENEL ENERGIA

Shiro Echo, the 100% recycled paper, is certified 100% Enel Energia as it is manufactured with renewable energy produced using alternative energy sources such as hydropower, solar power, wind power and geothermal energy, as certified by the “Guarantees of Origin” of the power service provider, pursuant to EU Directive 2009/28/CE.
